Our new Nespresso coffee machine

This evening has been a coffee kind of evening - despite the good news that my thyroid continues to behave and my new passport has arrived - and I don't really like coffee!  Actually that's not true, I like a good coffee but I've forgotten that and often opt for tea or herbal teas when we're out (and at home) instead. I'm not tempted at all by the coffee that Starbucks/Costa/Cafe Nero peddle. It's just not my thing...

A few weeks back MOH wanted to replace his Dualit coffee maker, (which I don't think I ever had a coffee from - I must still have been in denial), so off we went to John Lewis in Bluewater. We left slightly poorer financially but stocked up on information about the pros of our new purchase, the Nespresso U, which snuggles nicely onto the corner of our new sparkly work top and glass splash back:

It comes with a selection of coffee capsules and the opportunity to buy the welcome offer. Well, we would if it were ever in stock - c'mon Nespresso help us out here, we want to drink your coffee or specifically we want to drink the coffee and take advantage of the welcome offer in the literature...

We're almost through the sample pack, and I know I'm a Lungo-girl and prefer a coffee strength of 3-4. MOH is surprised as a confirmed non-coffee drinker I take my coffee black with a touch of sugar (maybe that's why the coffee shop chains just don't cut it for me), he's taken with the espresso varieties but has yet to try the cappuccino sort...

It makes great coffee, and MOH says is easy to use. He's showed me and it seems easy enough, but it's like the BBQ - it's really his thing, which I'll happily partake in if he's going to do it!
