Love this #43: Metro framed print

I've been on the hunt for some pictures to hang above our sofa for a while now. I still haven't found what I'm looking for, or rather I've not found what I'm looking for in our price range... yet!

But along the way I've seen plenty of nice pictures...

This is one of my favourites and it evokes many memories of Paris and sitting at the cafés and watching the world go by.  It is completely wrong for what I want - it's 25cm by 70cm - whereas I was looking for something almost the width of the sofa, but it's so beautiful I couldn't help but share it here.

It's on the website, and while you can't buy it online you can search to find local stockists.  This seems a good compromise as I think I'd want to actually see something I was going to hang on my wall before buying too.  And at £35 it's pretty reasonable.

I like the black and white, but also that splash of red which adds interest. I've many a picture of the art-deco lampposts and Metro signs, alas none as good as this or I'd be tempted to try this myself.

...Or maybe that's he perfect excuse to head back to Paris?!

We last popped over to Paris in May 2013 and it was literally just a pop over to meet up with friends. We stayed for just a single night, but with an early Eurostar there and a late one back we still had plenty of time to soak up the Parisian atmosphere.

While writing this post I looked back on the few photos I took that visit - they mostly seem to be of our nighttime visit to the Eiffel Tower, but I knew there'd be a Metro sign in there somewhere.

And sure enough there was - it's not the greatest picture (see, I really do need to go back!) but it was only as I put it into black and white that I spotted the lit up Eiffel Tower in the background.
